Johnston Community College is committed to providing equal access to education for all students. The Accessibility Services Office offers academic accommodations for students with disabilities or health conditions—whether you're learning on campus, online, or involved in campus life.

We follow the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 to ensure every qualified student has access to JCC’s programs and facilities.

Request Accessibility Services

New Students

  1. Complete the Request Form – Start by filling out the Accessibility Request Form (PDF).

  2. Submit Documentation – Provide recent documentation from a qualified professional which includes a clear diagnostic statement, a description of the assessment tools used to render the diagnosis, and a statement reflecting the student's current needs and level of functioning in an academic setting. All medical and psychological documentation used to verify a disability must be current and based on adult norm. All documentation and information regarding a student's disability is kept confidential and separate from academic records. Students seeking accommodations from Accessibility Services should also read the Accessibility Documentation Guidelines (PDF) prior to applying for service

  3. Schedule an Interview – Meet with the Accessibility Services Coordinator in our Student Success Center to discuss your needs and learn more about the JCC community.
  4. Renew Each Semester – Accommodations must be requested again each term.
