Commencement is a ceremony held twice a year in December and May that honors students who just have or will soon graduate, which means completing all their certificate, diploma and degree programs.

Steps to Commencement

JCC holds Commencement in December and May.

  1. Apply to Graduate

    Completing an application for graduation is necessary to participate in the commencement ceremony.

    Application Due

    August 29, 2025

  2. Attend the Grad Fair & Order Regalia

    Attend the Graduation Fair to order your cap & gown, ask questions about Graduation, and celebrate with your fellow graduates!

    Fair Date & Times

    October 7, 2025 1:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. In the Wilson Building Room C1111

     

    If you missed the Graduation Fair, don’t worry! You can still buy your regalia at the JCC Jaguar Bookstore or order online by November 17, 2025, to have it shipped directly to your home.

  3. Graduation Practice

    2025 Summer & 2025 Fall Graduation Practice at JCC

  4. Commencement Ceremony

    Johnston Community College's 2025 Fall Commencement Ceremony will be held at the Paul A. Johnston Auditorium.

    Did you graduate in July or plan to graduate in December?
    You’re eligible to walk in the fall commencement ceremony—just make sure you’ve submitted your graduation application.
